ABOUT US

Mission Statement

NDCA ‘s mission is to assist the family by providing a Christ-centred, Bible based education that inspires each student to pursue a personal commitment to Christ, strength in moral character, academic excellence and service to others.

History

25 + Years of Excellence
In 1979, a group of concerned parents wanted something more for their children’s education. Originally founded as part of Grace Church Ministries (Associated Gospel Churches), NDCA today is a parent-run school, directed by a board of elected parents representing various church denominations, and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Eastern Canada Region.   In a caring Christian environment, NDCA strives to meet the intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of its students.

Statement of Faith

We believe in:
The Holy Scripture as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, and the only supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
One God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh; His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediative work, and His personal return in power and glory.
The salvation of lost and sinful man through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ by faith apart from works and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life, to witness and to work for the Lord Jesus Christ.
The unity in the Spirit of all true believers, who are the Church, the Body of Christ.
The resurrection of both the saved and the lost. Those who are saved to the resurrection of Life, and those who are lost to the resurrection of damnation.

Core Values

Christ-centred Academic Excellence:
Helping  you achieve your best.
  • Every teacher is a dedicated professional, mature Christian, and positive role model. Our classroom teachers are certified in Ontario and are members of the Ontario College of Teachers.
  • Ontario Ministry of Education Curriculum guidelines are followed and  EQAO testing is completed in Gr. 3 and Gr. 6
  • Scripture, Biblical teachings, and Christian values are integrated into the total curriculum. Bible and Scripture memory are part of the program at all grade levels.

With an excellent student-teacher ratio,
we strive to help students achieve their academic best.

Christ-centred Community:
A safe place for you to learn and grow.

  • NDCA provides a safe learning environment for each student. Students are encouraged to treat each other with respect and kindness. Biblical values are taught and emphasized.
  • Staff and parent volunteers supervise the playground area.
  • All visitors to the building must check in at the school office.
  • A Plan to Protect protocol is in place for all staff and volunteers.

Christ-centred Love:
It's all about loving Jesus, Others, and Yourself.
  • Each student is loved and valued as a unique individual and is encouraged to develop a personal relationship with Christ.
  • Every school day begins with prayer and a devotional time.
  • Each week begins with a chapel time, which includes singing and a special speaker.
  • In addition to learning self-respect, students are encouraged to respect and appreciate others. Close friendships among classmates are cultivated.
  • Students, staff and families are provided with a number of opportunities to “give back” to the local and global community.
